hi there!
I thought id share some of my former life tonight,
before i began make what i currently am creating,
my studio was filled with painting and ceramics..
and the transition back into fabric was an essential one for me
as it was one of the first mediums after writing that i worked
with when i was younger, embroidering, sewing, weaving..
then in my teen years i launched into painting, at first it was
only with oils on big canvases, most of which have been in
peoples private collections since 1999,
somewhere between there i was creating sculptures in clay, mushroom sculptures
to be exact, of which i am playing with the possibility of bringing back on board this year.?.
Anyway i find it slightly funny that i ended up creating mushrooms in plush form,
but the years of sculpting them in clay has contributed immensely to their
overall look and feel, which i am happy with.
Okay back to painting, exactly. with the latest move of shops i was able to offer
some pieces from my private collection, these are the paintings i have held on to over the years,
many for sentimental - emotional reasons, but the sheer re-exposure of them has
once again sparked a desire and urge to bring out my brushes and paint once again,
so tonight after this post, i am headed for the canvas ~
i promise to show you what the fruits of my creative labor produce tonight..
In the meantime i thought you'd like a selected
(read what images i found roaming around my hard drive) collection of past works:

I had a wonderful time creating these mushrooms for the show,
I knew I wanted to include my Original Daddy & Baby Fly Agaric &
Sweet Momma & Child Bolete Mushrooms, but the
Winter Forest Mushroom is an Exclusive for the show..
This is one that was designed, and created completely
off the cuff and from the pure mycologist passion
that runs in these veins, I remember sitting on my bed with the window open,
birds chirping, lizards scurrying and a fresh cup of frothy steaming
Japanese Matcha Green Tea...Took a few centering deep
breaths, and without ant sketching, planning researching
created, by and by this little guy emerged~

This Winter Forest Mushroom will be available for sale in the Shop
beginning tomorrow, in a Limited Edition Run of 10 ~

~*~
I do apologize for being away for soo long, I have been filling
my days with lots of reading, teaching, mountain exploring
and here's my real secret..the first rough, repeat Rough
draft of a book.
Writing was and will always be my first true love, and after many
years of being separated, i finally gave in and fully embraced
my calling, when something flows so naturally and feels so right
you know it is. I will naturally slowly reveal more about
the subject of the book and the proccess over the next few months,
but suffice to say it is all consuming in a very very satisfying manner.
I am happy.
I will continue to accept a very small amount of commissions
for the Mushrooms, Adornments, Sakura Wedding Collection (which
I have some very interesting new pieces to add soon
Birdcage Veils, Wedding Night Boudoir sets) and I have
moved once again to my all in one home over at etsy,
so I can include my Original Paintings,
many of which I finally feel ready to part with, along
with new pieces as they become available.
♥
Thank You for your continued interest, and patience
with my erratic postings, of which, I foresee
now that I've passed the minor mid-life-crisis
I went through this summer, I should be settled
enough to get on with it.
Stay posted, I have lots of things to share with you
that accumulated over this hiatus.
xoxo

Lady Georgia

well hello again
i hope you are completely engulfed in the mysteries of spring
i am
captivated with the promise of abundant growth
this new life almost palpable
the other day i was checking out at a local joanns fabric
and before the pile had been rung up my two boys ran
hurriedly to grab some candy , as i said they could have
i called out to find me some turtles
the lady that was ringing me up began to make comments
like umm turtles, so yummy i love those
so at the end of the transaction i offered her one
she replied she couldn't
"my thighs, my waist, my head"...
& I said well if you smile enough today you'll work it all off won't you?
took out a chocolate turtle ~ and held it out for her
she proceeded to turn red and smiled the biggest smile
as i further urged her..go on take it you deserve it!
she was gushing very heart felt thank yous as she popped it in her grinning mouth
as we walked away my eldest son said oh how nice of you mom!
we then spent the next hour talking about sharing & connecting with each other as humans
so this was the idea i had about the contest
i encourage you to find ways to share yourself in any small way
to do anything to make someone you do not know smile
because i want to spread the benefits i will keep this contest open for a month
and on July 7th, i will randomly pull a name out of my very favorite gardening hat
that person will get to choose any item from any shop to have created just for themselves
i like knowing that these small acts are like a small ripple in the pond
~*~
On other inspirations.... Today I wanted to share with you , a very special thing in my life ~
Ever since I was very, very young..I used to fall asleep with visions of myself dancing my own special way of dancing,
which would send me into a very special place, where I was free and full of passion & emotion, where it was okay to have such...
It wasn't until later in life that I recognized the posturing and hand movements as the traditional Gypsy/ Spanish art of Flamenco. Also during this time I had began to do some genealogy research, and found out that on my mothers side, there was the surname of Chacon, that was traced back to a male ancestor that came to America on one of the four boats with Christopher Columbus,
so I finally validated the pull of that culture to my spirit...When doing a basic google search for the name Chacon..
came across a woman named Julia Chacon, who is an absolutely wonderful Flamenco Dancer & teacher,
after emailing her and pondering the fact that both of our families were from the very Northern Part of New Mexico..
how interesting. Anyway as soon as I can, I have made an intention to study Flamenco with her in Santa Fe ~
But until then..I give you what I find as some of the most personally stirring performances of the legendary Carmen Ayama

It is astounding how fast time seems to fly by
almost like a fast forward button has been pressed
lets see
my weekend was started off with a sunrise excursion into the Mcdowell Mountains
right behind us, driving by them on Friday evening, at sunset I was fighting the overwhelming urge
to pull over and wander into the mountain(which seems to happen rather frequently)
but with my four little constant companions in tow, its not very feasible, without a bit of preparation that is
so we decided to come back the next morning, they had never "seen" the sunrise and my mountain was calling
so we found ourselves driving on the bare cool grey morning streets with everyone very excited yet a
wee bit still sleepy...it was 5:30 after all...
The feeling, the tangible sacredness of both the hour of God and the unbelievable beauty of the
desert mountain side had me utterly speechless, I simply cannot begin to explain how special it was.
we wound up the trail, and just before the sun broke on the mountain top, I laid out our blanket right
there on the trail, laid down and soaked up the beauty & memorable sight of my little morning
mountain explorers pushing their boundries among the silent desert
next time I'm bringing my camera

I have been super busy with some really wonderful custom creations
This set was sent out the beginning of this week
<OD>Sakura Wedding Design Custom Created Keepsake Wedding Garter Set</OD>

Hand Embroidered ~ Embellished with Czech faceted glass, Swarovski crystal beads, Czech seed beads and Swarovski Bicone Olivine Gems
It is so wonderfully fulfilling to establish a connection with someone so alive with love,
planning and dreaming of that most special day of their lives...it is such an honor to
play a small part in that.
I was introducing some of my favorite musicians to my little budding band mates today for school, and telling them stories of all the things I've read about each artist, and all the funny & subtly important tales of when I was in my late teens and learning to play all of these cats music, in my bedroom with my younger sister.
We immersed ourselves in the greats for hours, days & years, these were undoubtedly some of my best memories ever.
Now that my children are getting older, I am exposing them to the cream of the crop, and showing them how we learned all of their
songs, like the masters themselves learned, by imitation, or "copin' on the music" as the articulate Lester young would say,
if you can handle the french (if you dig), his interview below says it all:
Lately, when we drive about town we rotate our play-list from the below cats, there is nothing like blasting John Lee, or Tbone
on a warm spring day all the windows down and everyone singing along..good times indeed. In between all the business of today, I managed to take some photos of the pretty things in my yard:
Our little mourning dove has returned once again (this makes it #4) she is part of the family by now~

If you are interested in being emailed prior to thier public reveal, for first chance acquisition of the piece, please email me, and I will add you to my email update list.

~*~
There is something so special to me about getting to create something so perfect and beautiful for a bride to wear on a day, that for many, will be the most definitive in thier entire lives.
I always think of the very delicate and subtle details that I can add, to the piece or to the whole package, that will further allow the vulnerable soul a moment of subtle personal & private beauty.
But the thing I didn't know and wasn't prepared for was the wonderful creative interaction that is played out with each of the brides to be and myself, after numerous convos and emails..sometimes phone calls...I feel as though I am interpreting the vision and emotion of her thoughts of what she wishes everything to be, and getting to create that with delicate stitchery and lace.
It has been by far the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I really love getting to contribute my sensual and unique artistry to every bride's most magical day.

I have been introducing a special offer to any bride who commissions a custom garter for herself, I will create a matching Keepsake "toss garter" for you. I decided to set this up after a few of my friends who are marring & I, recently talked about how horrible the thought is of tossing thier hand sewn custom created garter into a crowd of guests..so this way everyone is happy..

::
Tomorrow is a wonderfully happy day for me, as I get to hop from my favorite sources of lace & decorative trims, Vintage and new, for the first set in a new garter custom order, so I am already preparing my senses for an overload of inspiration, I ALWAYS come home with materials for like five more projects, besides my current orders..I really need to employ the pretty garden faries and house brownies, I have here with me to sew for me...hum...any ideas on how to coax a mystical creature to work for you??
Well I'm off to continue hand embroidering one of six wee mushrooms for a set to be sent soon, my studio table is starting to look like a magical forest floor!
xoxo
g

We ventured out my small little family and I to the outskirts of the city,
into the brush and wildflowers of the spring kissed Sonoran Desert,
where the annual Renaissance Festival
always sets up thier enchanted mid century villa,
this was the second time I had attended, and my children's first, after we anxiously waited in 2-3 mile
traffic to even park, then the dust..oh the glorious dust.
You have to really love the desert to dwell here, its times like this I looked around at the throngs
of people through clouds of dirt and wonder what I am doing here...
But if you can see past the dirt and sand, you will shudder with the delicate and
subtle beauty of the desert and all its secrets.
We made our way into the hustle and bustle of the mini world, where there as always a plethora
of ruckus and devilish costumed ladies and er.. men, and the overload of tempting wares and works of all
period correct and a smattering of modern fantasy art, all on display.
Since one of my sweet little ducklings had developed a headache,
we focused on finding food, which I personally have trouble
with, as I am extremely picky and opted to eat an orange
and some crackers I had packed for the day, my children comically
chewed a rather large turkey leg, and fit right in..
The one thing I knew we wanted not to miss was the Falconry and
birds of prey show, that we were on time for happily...
I have always had a very personal and deep connection to hawks,
living here in the desert they are a often occurrence in the sky
seen circling above, and every time I see one my spirit seems to soar up, up
to the thermals of which they glide, and I surrender my spirit to let go
for that moment at least...
So it was a rare and special treat to be this close to one of my most beloved
animals

After the magnificent birds of prey...I found myself sliding down a two story "dragon"
slide, after my oldest ducklings. So when I saw the human catapulting ahead, I thought for a moment
of those birds, and how even though it would be WAYYY out of my normal comfort zone,
and since my daughter was without a blink going to try, I did as well.
She wanted me to go first, and while we waited, watched a 12 year old doing back-flips
while up in the air, so i decided that I would try and do a back-flip, forgetting that
I am in my mid thirties and have never even remotely coxed my four limbs into any notion
of physicality.
I can not explain the feeling I had when the sweet attendant flung me into the air,
fear, a rapidly sinking feeling in my stomach, and my entire body, and the funniest
natural conflict happening in my mind, the rational side screaming stop right now!
and my inner child screaming Yippee!!!
after I came down and bounced back up on the trampoline below a few times, relishing on the
bird like view and the sun seeming to be shining only for my face at the moment,
I could hear my children screaming below..Back-flip mom!Back-flip!!!
so on the next launch up I used my arms and tucked my feet and felt my body spin around,
the first time I closed my eyes, and the second I kept them open to see the entire landscape
turn upside down then straighten out again in a flash.

By the time I bounced up again a few times, I realized how tired I had suddenly become,
and I think my sweet attendant saw this and gently brought me back to the reality
of the ground, I came off dizzy but buzzing with adrenaline, but more
the happiness of giving in to my fears and having fun, not caring who saw, what
I looked like or what if? You know? It was amazing..my daughter went after me
and after the second launch I had to verbally calm her down enough to open her eyes,
and try and have fun, it was scary and I was so proud that she did it.
we went on and everyone rode simple rides and saw amazing craftsmanship everywhere
It was a wonderful hot spring day, one that changed how I see myself.
Since then, I have been slowly recovering my overly used muscles and my seriously
sun damaged and scaled skin on my face, chest and arms,
which only seems to be abated by frequent anointing of sesame oil
and lavender essential oil, which really helps by the way...for those of you who have a little
too much fun in the sun this spring..

I hope you take any chance to step out of your comfort zone soon,
you may just surprise yourself..
xoxo
g
